First round of customizations: SIGs and Trackers
I've done some minor customization to the site, adding in folders for the LUG special interest groups (SIGs) and enabling the creation of issue trackers.
So, what exactly did I do?As an administrator, I added a /sigs folder to the portal, and then added two subfolders, /sigs/python and /sigs/handhelds. This is done in exactly the same way as a member would add a folder to their member area. Then, I customized the global navigation to add in a sigs tab pointing to the /sigs folder. Pretty simple, and I was done in less than five minutes.
Next, I installed the PloneCollectorNG issue tracker, and added an instance into the /sigs/python folder. I did some minor customization to it's settings, and added an issue. The issue is not visible by default in the tracker because I also resolved it and resolved issues are hidden from the default view, but it's there if you use the search functionality.
So now that I've installed it, any member can add their own PCNG issue trackers to their folders, and customize them to whatever extent they feel necessary. They can also (just like any other object they create) control access to it.
OK, that will do for a summary for now. If anyone would like me to add extra SIG folders, please let me know, and I will also be happy to start giving manager access to sections of the site to anyone interested.
